Undergraduate Research

and Creative Activities

The URCA Office in the College of Letters and Science was initiated to promote the scholarly work of undergraduate students and to provide resources for undergraduates to pursue independent research and creative activities under the guidance of faculty members. Support is available under various categories.

In addition to support for undergraduate research and creative activities, the URCA office also provides the following services:

SCHOLARSHIPS

Advice and assistance in applying for various prestigious scholarships, such as the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Carnegie and Truman, as well as others.

UCDC PROGRAM

The office provides assistance and advice to students who wish to apply for the UC Washington, D.C. Program, where selected qualified students spend one quarter studying and interning in the Nation's capital. While in the program, students are expected to secure an internship and submit a paper as part of the requirements.

UCCS PROGRAM

The office provides assistance to students who wish to apply for the UC Center in Sacramento program. This program is similar to the UCDC program except that selected qualified students study and intern for a quarter in Sacramento.
