IUC and Technology Planning Guidelines and Suggestions

(2007-2008 Call for Proposals)

Please consider the technology areas listed below in your departmental technology planning process. In response to the annual call for Instructional Use of Computing (IUC) proposals, you can submit departmental priorities in whatever format is appropriate to the process in you department. No matter what form is used, however, it is crucial that departmental priorities across and within all these areas are communicated in your response. (That is, we need to know if your 5th highest desktop computer replacement is a higher or lower priority than your first instructional project.) This information will be used as the basis for allocation of IUC and any other technology funds available during the year.

Help@LSIT is available to assist departments in their technology planning in a variety of ways, entirely dependent on the desires of the department. In the past we have participated in departmental tech committee meetings, researched technology options to solve department goals, identified costs associated with specific requests, and consulted with departments in a variety of ways. For assistance, please contact Help@LSIT via email to help@lsit.ucsb.edu.
